PINNE 117 is a ceiling luminaire shaped as a narrow bar 118 cm long with a 6 × 6 cm cross-section. The aluminium housing is painted black and the lower edge is closed by an opal diffuser through which the light leaves downwards. The fitting screws straight onto the ceiling, with no drop. How big the fitting is and where to put it The bar measures 118 cm long by 6 cm wide and 6 cm high, so it takes up a narrow strip of ceiling and stands about a hand's width below it. Compare that length with the surface you want lit: a kitchen run, a work table or a stretch of corridor. The fitting weighs 3.85 kg. The manufacturer's instructions have you screw the mounting bar to the ceiling and then wire the fitting into a three-way terminal — line, neutral and earth. The light goes downwards only, so the ceiling above the fitting stays unlit. How much light PINNE 117 gives and of what kind The built-in LED module draws 28 W and delivers 3640 lm. That is roughly four and a half traditional 60 W bulbs, which makes the fitting a main light for a room rather than an addition to one. 4000 K is neutral white — light with no yellow cast, closer to daylight than to a filament bulb. A colour rendering index of Ra 90 means the colours of a worktop, of furniture and of food look true, which matters in a kitchen and over a desk. The light source is integrated and cannot be replaced, so there is no bulb to buy. Build and wiring The body is aluminium and the diffuser is opal: the milky material spreads the light of the diodes so that no individual points show from below. The fitting runs on 230 V and 50 Hz. The manufacturer states protection class I, so the installation needs an earth conductor — the terminal inside the fitting takes three wires, not two.
