BOTA 4037-13 is a small table lamp: a white opal shade with softly rounded edges on a round anthracite base, finished with a matching dome on top. That dome is also the touch surface of the dimmer. A black cable leaves the side of the base. How big it is and where it stands The lamp is 15.5 cm tall and 12 cm across — compare that diameter with the width of the surface it is meant for: on a narrow bedside table it still leaves room for a book and a phone. It weighs 582 g, so it moves with one hand. The manufacturer describes it as a bedside and supplementary light rather than the main light source of a room. How much light it gives and how it is adjusted The dome on top holds a three-step touch dimmer: 10%, 50% and 100% brightness. Each further touch moves to the next step, so dimming needs neither a wall dimmer nor a bulb marked as dimmable. The first step gives a tenth of full brightness, a level at which the lamp can be left on through the night. At full output the lamp draws 7 W. The LED module itself is rated at 580 lm, but 500 lm leave the opal shade — and it is the second figure that says how much light you actually get. That is mood lighting, clearly less than an old 60 W bulb. 3000 K is warm and slightly yellow, and the shade glows across its whole surface, so no point source is visible inside it. What comes in the box The LED module is built into the fitting and no bulb is bought for it. For the same reason the light source is not replaced by the owner once it wears out. The lamp is protection class II, so it does not need an earthed socket, and it is intended for indoor use only.
