The GFA1432C is a linear ceiling light shaped as a squared-off bar 26.9 cm long. The body is aluminium in satin white, and ten deep-set black cells with reflectors sit along its narrow underside. How much room it takes and how it is fitted The bar is 26.9 cm long and only 3.4 cm wide, and it stands 7 cm clear of the ceiling — a shape that draws a line across a ceiling rather than filling the middle of it. No cut-out is involved: the fitting mounts on the ceiling surface, so it also suits a slab with no void above it. It weighs 0.5 kg and belongs to protection class II, which means no earth conductor is needed. The LED module and the transformer are both supplied, so nothing has to be bought to switch it on. The maker intends it for indoor use only. How much light it gives and of what kind The integrated LED module draws 20 W and gives 1600 lm — roughly what two old 60 W bulbs produced — at 3000 K, a warm white with a faint yellow cast. A colour rendering index above Ra 80 is enough wherever colours have to look natural: over displayed goods or over a worktop. The light leaves in a 30° beam pointing straight down, and each diode sits in its own anti-glare cell. From a normal distance the individual light points therefore stay out of sight, and what is lit is a clearly drawn strip below the fitting rather than the whole room. What the fitting does not do The LED module is integrated — it is not changed like a bulb, and the maker rates its life at 50,000 hours.
