BERANGA is a low garden bollard 30 cm tall. A column tapering towards the top, in a pale speckled sandstone tone, stands on a graphite cylindrical base screwed around its rim, and a flat disc in the colour of the column caps it. The light leaves through a translucent ring beneath that disc. How big it is and where it stands The fitting is 30 cm high and 11.5 cm across. Set that height against your own path or bed: at 30 cm the bollard lights the surface and its edge around itself rather than the space above, so it belongs at the edge of an entrance, a driveway or a terrace rather than as lighting for a whole garden. The flat disc above the light source closes the column at the top, so the light spreads sideways and downwards. A bollard standing beside a path will therefore not shine into the eyes of anyone walking along it. What light it gives and how it is powered One built-in LED module runs inside the fitting, rated 5 W at 3000 K — warm, slightly yellow light close to a traditional bulb. The module is supplied, so no lamp has to be bought separately; it is also permanently fitted and is not changed like a bulb. The bollard runs on 230 V mains, which means a garden installation cable has to be brought to it — this is not a low-voltage or battery fitting. What it is made of The column is a sandstone-and-cement composite, which is where its matt, finely speckled surface comes from; the base is smooth and finished in graphite, setting two materials against each other in one body.
