Groenland M 8709 is a ceiling fan with integrated LED lighting, fixed straight to the ceiling with no downrod. Three black blades spanning 122 cm come off a shallow cylindrical housing that closes underneath with a round opal lens. What size of room it is meant for The manufacturer quotes an airflow of 150 m³/min for rooms of 13–20 m². Put that figure next to your own floor area — in a larger room the fan still runs, but the same airflow is spread over more space. The blades sweep a circle 122 cm across, so that much clear space has to stay around the mounting point. The housing drops only 21.5 cm and takes no downrod, so the fan also fits rooms with less headroom, and the manufacturer allows mounting on a sloped ceiling. How loud it runs and how it is controlled The motor is a DC type with eight speeds, for which the manufacturer quotes 16.7 to 47.8 dB. The lower figure sits within the range where a fan can be left running overnight in a bedroom; at the top speed, at 215 revolutions per minute, it is clearly audible. A 2.4 GHz radio remote is included and works both the speeds and the light, so no separate dimmer or pull chain is needed. The blades reverse: in summer they push air downwards, in winter they turn the other way and bring warm air back down from the ceiling. How much light it gives The lamp in the hub puts out 1700 lm, roughly what two old 60 W bulbs gave — in a room of the size the fan is meant for, that is enough for general lighting. Colour temperature adjusts steadily from 2700 K, a warm, slightly yellow light, to a cool 5000 K, and the same remote dims the output. The LED module is built in permanently and is not changed like a bulb; the manufacturer rates it at 25 000 hours, after which the whole light unit is replaced. Build and installation The housing is steel and the blades are ABS, and the fan weighs 4.1 kg — a load that has to go into the structural ceiling rather than a suspended lining. The unit is protection class I, so an earth conductor has to reach the ceiling box, and it carries no moisture protection, which makes it a dry-interior fitting only.Näytä lisää
