ILLUMIA MS236040R-BK is a ceiling light built from four rounded frames set like a pinwheel. The frames are black, and a narrow gold stripe runs along the inner edge of each one. The whole fitting measures 54.8 × 54.8 cm and stands 7.7 cm below the ceiling. How much light it gives and for which room The four lit frames together deliver 2200 lm while drawing 30 W. That is enough output for the fitting to be the only light source in a room — for comparison, the old 60 W bulb gave about 800 lm. At 54.8 cm across it takes up a noticeable area of ceiling, so that figure is worth comparing with the space it will hang over. The body is shallow: 7.7 cm of height is little more than a hand's width, which matters in a room with a low ceiling. Light colour and dimming The colour can be shifted between 3000 and 6000 K, from warm yellowish white to cool light with a bluish cast. It switches without the remote too: within five seconds of turning the lamp on, flicking the wall switch quickly a few times steps through four settings — neutral, warm, cool and night mode. The lamp remembers the setting. Leave it on for at least five seconds at a chosen colour and brightness, and it will come back on the same way. The remote and what is in the box An infrared remote is included, and it changes brightness and colour gradually rather than in jumps: it has separate keys for dimming up and down, preset levels of 50% and 100%, colour shift both ways, a night mode and a switch-off delayed by 20 seconds. It only works when pointed at the lamp. The manufacturer does not supply a battery for the remote — that has to be bought separately. The light sources are permanently built in and are changed by professional service only; the manufacturer states energy efficiency classes D and E for them.
