Die HP-Diol-Phase wird mit Hilfe der Polymerchemie synthetisiert und ist mit der funktionellen Gruppe 1,2-Dihydroxypropylpropylether verbunden, die eine spezielle Interaktion mit polaren Verbindungen ermöglicht. Die Polymerbindungschemie ermöglicht eine hocheffiziente und stabile Trennung polarer Pharmazeutika, Peptide und Proteine.
